MY GRADE: A

SYNOPSIS: Nastina, an evil spider, decides to ruin the fashion show planned by Rose-Petal and her friends, but they think of a way to outsmart her.

MY THOUGHTS: The six girls, who live in a fantasy land in the back of a Victorian garden, try to put on a fashion show because they're bored. Nastina wants to be queen of Rose-Petal Place so she has her assistant, Horace Fly, try and sabotage it because she's hateful and jealous. He succeeds somewhat but the show went on anyway. The picture book is only 48 pages with full color illustrations on every page. It was a decent story considering it was very condensed.

TITLE: LILY FAIR LEARNS A LESSON
AUTHOR: Vicky Edwards Gehrt

MY GRADE: A

SYNOPSIS: Jealous of Rose-Petal's popularity, Lily Fair believes Nastina the spider's promises to make her a star dancer.

MY THOUGHTS: This book isn't a good one for children. Lily Fair diets and exercises every day "to keep herself in shape" and they show her on a scale. Nastina, the nasty, jealous spider who's out to rule Rose-Petal Place convinces Lily Fair to do something she shouldn't just to cause drama between her and the other girls. I love a villain so I like Nastina. My favorite image from the book is here.

TITLE: A MATTER OF MUSIC

MY GRADE: C

SYNOPSIS: Rose-Petal and her glamorous friends struggle against the evil spider Nastina's most evil trick, which is designed to prevent Rose-Petal from singing!

MY THOUGHTS: This one was very boring. Nastina, who's jealous as hell of Rose-Petal, finds a way to create a lot of noise to drown out the sound of her singing. That's it.
